I am an adult, I now wear a watch.

Happy Halloween everyone! This costume designer is going to miss out on the holiday this year, but I wish you all a weekend of accessories, transformation and inspiration. Send me photos if you have a great costume and remember to say NO to the Skanky Costume Option.

This is a still from swedish fashion label Whyred’s latest art project, the film La Vitesse et La Pierre. Click here to watch a sneak preview, learn more about the project and shop their latest collection.

Peter’s patent leather sneakers were perfect for a rainy night in Brooklyn.

Behind the scenes Chanel, I love the voyeuristic feel and Karl’s mini commentaries. I think the music is the score from the fantastic French film A Bout de Souffle (Breathless).

One of my all time favorites, Cult Classic, Costume Genius, Teenage Fantasy.

Here are the test shots from my photo shoot for Syntax Magazine with photographer Christian Storm. Wait til you see the final prints with hair, makeup and location…
My swede Sophie turned me onto this great video of Lykke Li blazing in her talent’s glory. Those high notes make me weak in the knees.
I’ve been doing a lot of pattern making and building for my current project and so I’m totally blown away by the draping of fabric in Mario Schwab’s S/S 2010 RTW.

My friend Hanna returned home from a year in the Gambia and brought me back a beautiful bag and bangle that inspire colorful mixes and gold accents.

Here’s Mira roaming the racks of Costume Collection for our upcoming show “Arms and the Man”. It is an impressive rental service that has a warehouse filled with goods donated by designers and closed shows, though finding pieces for Bulgaria circa 1885 was tough.

Henna is a traditional part of a Hindu wedding ceremony and so the Malaysian bride, Gita, had an intricate and continuous design on her hands, arms, feet and legs. The rest of us got to enjoy the process of getting our own, smaller henna designs that served as the best souvenir.

My parisian friend Léa took me to a concept shop in Paris called “Merci”. It is made of three store fronts; a flower shop, a café/library, and a store that is like Anthropologie on steroids with beautiful housewares, clothing and knick-knacks. This month’s installation was hand customized ceramics. My “N” teacup has found a good home in NYC.

Established & Sons has initiated a series of collaborations by artists of two fields. Most recently artist Richard Woods known for his graphic style whipped up this cartoonish wood pattern that was then applied to furniture designer Sebastian Wrong’s classic set of drawers, et voilà: Wrongwoods.

My grandmother Bente’s friend (of over 60 years) Birgit has incredible taste in design, food, fashion and art. She also has a fantastic collection of my late grandfather, Ole Hamann’s paintings.
